Using Direct Messages

Direct Messaging

Starting a Conversation

• Go to a user's profile → tap the message icon
• Or access all conversations from the envelope icon on the home feed

Chat Features

• Real-time text messaging powered by Supabase Realtime
• Conversation list shows: avatar, name, last message preview, timestamp, and unread indicator (blue dot)
• Pull-to-refresh on the conversation list

DM Settings

• Disable DMs — Some users can turn off DMs entirely (Settings → DMs Disabled). Attempting to message them shows: "This user does not accept direct messages."
• DM Notifications — Toggle DM notification alerts on/off in Settings
• DM Themes (Grande Alert+) — Choose custom bubble colors and glass effects for your chat interface
